Beginners’ courses take place generally in the Spring and Autumn at Brimfield & Little Hereford Sports Club, which teaches the basics of Target Archery and offers an introduction into Field and Clout Archery.
The course is aimed at archers aged 10 years plus. If an individual has a health issue or disability then Archery can still be for you and our coaches are happy to confidentially discuss this with you.
Sessions are normally evenings and/or weekends. The current cost of the course is £30 for all ages.
We teach beginners using the "Recurve" style of bow. This will give you the "basics" of shooting and enable you to shoot other styles such as longbow, flatbow or compound later. All equipment is provided for the beginners’ course.
The club currently has Level 2 coaches and many experienced archers who are happy to support and/or coach archers.
The club Beginners Booklet is available as a PDF here. This booklet provides an overview of what will be covered at each of the sessions. When you attend one of our beginners’ courses you will be helped to remember the important information by application and observation.
At the end of the course you may wish to apply for membership of Archers of Teme, details and advice will be available at that time.
Details of exact dates and times will be confirmed a few months prior to the course, along with the application form to enroll.
